Mud…

Of course, I didn’t go out to photograph the river primarily. If the tide had been in, I probably wouldn’t have bothered. I went out to take photos of these wonderful mud formations. I hoped to see some bird footprints in it as well, but didn’t this time. Last time I saw them I didn’t have my camera.

I love the juxtaposition of the organic mud shapes with the vertical lines of the quay.

I like all the cracks and rivulets of water running through this one.

  1. Hi Liz, just been looking at your mud formations, l turned some into a textile piece, when l lived at Cleethorps which is the next town and people call it a seaside but its the dirty River Humber, wouldn’t put my toe in it lol
But they have some great mud formations like spirals into a little mole hill but think its some little thing digging under it but there great to look at..
If l could get there under my own steam l would have taken some pictures for you but it would be a expensive taxi ride but will have a think who l know that lives there, l lived there for 32 yrs but after living in Scotland l came back to Grimsby as was closer to all the shops and easier for me.
One thing l would like to ask you liz is l have finally got my class group website going, its been a struggle as had to download firefox as my browser because aol kept knocking me off, but if you could let people know l would be so gratefull, the url is http://www.JillSmithCreativeClasses.com l have quite a few special offers and one you save £26,
Write to you soon, will be following your mud pictures and another thing that l nealy forgot is about your stamps l have been reading about,do you do yours from a eraser as l would like to have a go. But l did find some great stamps in Laklands sale, l think you would like them.
    Love Jill

  3. Hey Liz,
These photos would be great reference material for the Organic Embroidery class that I am teaching at Joggles.com online this summer. :)
